During treatment, the body is called on to produce additional collagen and elastin to improve skin color, texture, and tone. Microneedling is a popular service that is effective on its own or can be combined with other treatments to improve results.

Does Microneedling work?

Skin that has been studied after microneedling has been shown to have an increase in multiple types of collagen immediately below the outermost layer of skin (just below the epidermis). This increase in collagen makes skin resemble more youthful skin and has been shown to decrease the appearance of acne, fine lines or wrinkles, or pigmented areas.

Microneedling FAQ

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device containing very fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin.
We work hard to provide quality treatments to patients with minimal discomfort and as little downtime as necessary. To achieve this, we numb the face prior to the procedure so that there is minimal pain with the microneedling.
Before microneedling, it is important to minimize sun exposure for several days prior and to have as little as possible or no sun exposure at least 24 hours prior to treatment. Come in to your appointment with a clean face and we’ll do the rest!
Your body starts recovering from the treatment immediately after its finished. Treated areas will appear red for a few days after the procedure but this will go away naturally and quickly. To avoid pigment changes or scarring after the procedure, it is best to follow the post-treatment instructions that we’ve developed in order to ensure you have the best response possible.
